Move to NHS CRS Smartcard enablement

The ESR system is moving from a username/password access to use of an NHS Care Records Service (CRS) Smartcard. This will ensure that staff data is secured to the same level as patient data.

All NHS organisations in England need to contact the ESR team to arrange the transfer of your organisation’s data from the NHS CRS to ESR. These data uploads will take place between May and August.

A letter and two page briefing (distributed to ESR Executive Sponsors and SHA RA Leads on 7th April 2009) can be opened from the link below for more information about the project and to find out how to ensure your organisation is allocated to a date for the data upload to take place.
