OH Clearance Implementation

We are pleased to confirm that the transfer of data from OHSC to ESR has successfully completed and the OHSC system is now closed for England.

New functionality for the management of Occupational Health Clearance and associated data has been available in ESR since Monday 5th October 2009.

As part of the implementation, the OHSC data for organisations in England was migrated into ESR.  This migration was successful, although 3,545 OHSC records failed to migrate because they could not be matched with any Employee record in ESR.   If you would like details of any records that failed for your organisation then please contact  the ESR Central Team at esr.communications@nhs.net or on 01926 478989.

Details of the Implementation history can be found here.

During the OH Training Events that took place from July to September, organisations were informed that the Eligible for OH Processing flags were set automatically as part of the implementation (for doctors and dentists). The Central Team is now offering a service to help those organisations wishing to extend the use of this functionality to other staff groups or where large numbers of positions need to be set with the EPP flag.

Any organisations that wish to use this facility will need to email carrie.gray@nhs.net and provide the approximate number of positions they wish to update.  This will enable the Central Team to allocate a work slot and provide a completion date for the work.  A template will also be provided which will need to be completed to enable the Central Team to update the positions accordingly.

This document outlines the functionality and purpose of the two new Occupational Health fields that are held against positions (please see page 11, ‘Position changes within ESR Workstructures’).
